In high season, the island can be very crowded and expensive, so planning ahead will save you stress... and money!
Mykonos is an island of fun, with a thousand faces, ranging from the picturesque town of white houses with blue shutters perched on a hill, to the labyrinthine alleys, passing through charming hidden corners, small churches, and boutiques, all dominated by windmills. It's an island that appeals to everyone: families, celebrities seeking exclusivity, young people looking for fun, and lovers of golden beaches. The historic center is enchanting, but the best time to visit is at dawn or dusk, when the magic of the place is shrouded in silence and golden light!
Choose the right area to stay. Each area of Mykonos has a different vibe. Chora is perfect for those who love nightlife and want to be at the center of the action. Ornos and Platis Gialos are ideal for families or couples seeking tranquility with amenities. Paradise and Super Paradise attract a young, party-loving crowd. Unlike the more famous windmills, Boni is less crowded and has been transformed into an agricultural museum showcasing rural life in Mykonos. Its panoramic location offers spectacular views of the town and the sea, making it an ideal spot for photos.
Lena's House - A traditional 19th-century residence located in the heart of Mykonos. Part of the Mykonos Folklore Museum, it offers an authentic glimpse into life during that era. The house is named after its last inhabitant, Lena Skrivanou, who lived here until her death in 1968. Inside, you can admire period furniture, hand-made embroidery, and traditional costumes, including that of the historical figure Manto Mavrogenous.
Tourlos Marina - Mykonos' newest port, located on the west coast, just over a kilometer from town.
