THE NEW "LUPA del LAGORAI" (SHE-WOLF of LAGORAI) by MARCO MARTALAR

After the Winged Dragon of Lavarone (Drago di Vaia), in Alpe Cimbra (province of Trento), here is another incredible work by the artist, this time in Valsugana near Levico Terme, precisely in Vetriolo Terme: the Lupa del Lagorai (She-Wolf of Lagorai). It is a majestic she-wolf made with wood scraps from the Vaia storm that destroyed most of the trees in Trentino on the night of 29 October 2018. The work is located at an altitude of 1,600 meters, in the hamlet of Vetriolo, the highest thermal center in Europe. But be careful because the work will not last forever, the wood used, in fact, has not been treated and for this reason it is destined to disappear.

HOW TO GET TO the SHE-WOLF of LAGORAI

It is possible to reach the Lupa del Lagorai (She-Wolf of Lagorai) by car from Levico Terme or Pergine, in about 30 minutes, or with the special shuttle bus service from Levico Terme for the winter months of December and January - bus transport service upon reservation. 09:30 / Drop off 16:00 (cost of the ticket directly on the shuttle bus: € 4.00 return, € 3.00 return only, € 2.00 up to 10 years and residents of Levico Terme) - reservations at the number 0461727700 (by 6 pm of the previous day) - consult the website www.visitvalsugana.it for info and updates.

WHERE TO PARK to see the SHE-WOLF of LAGORAI

The most convenient parking to reach the She-Wolf of Lagorai is that of Nif: Alpine Taste, a restaurant and hotel in Vetriolo Terme (ex Maso Vetriolo Vecchio), you can leave your car for free in the parking lot near the launch pad for paragliders and hang gliders .

HOW LONG TO GO TO SEE the SHE-WOLF of LAGORAI

It takes about half an hour to get to the Lupa car park from Levico or Pergine Valsugana, once parked, follow a comfortable 1 km walk which will take you to the Lupa in about 15-20 minutes where you can spend as long as you like admire the work and the breathtaking view that can be seen from up there.

WHEN TO GO TO SEE THE SHE-WOLF of LAGORAI

The best time to see the She-Wolf of Lagorai does not exist! It is a wonderful work in any season. In summer and spring with the warmer temperatures it is ideal to escape from the heat and enjoy some mountain air (remember to bring water in summer!). In autumn the landscape presents truly magical colors and perfect for photographs. In Winter, however, the magic of the snow that whitens the landscape around the Lupa makes everything even more evocative. We also advise you to go there in the afternoon and then wait for the sun to go down to witness a breathtaking sunset!

WHO IS MARCO MARTALAR?

La She-Wolf of Lagorai is not the first work of this kind born from the hands of the artist Marco Martalar. In 2020, in Mezzaselva di Roana on the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni, where he lives, Marco created a winged lion with 1500 pieces of shrubs and trees felled by Vaia, which became the largest winged lion in the world, three meters high and 4 long, 5. Immediately afterwards, the artist achieved incredible success thanks to the Dragon of Vaia, in Lavarone, "a majestic work, a symbol of resilience and courage".
